This one is going to hurt a lot of folks in Hamtramck.
Gov. Gretchen Whitmer is ordering all bars and restaurants to close at 3 p.m. today (March 16) until further notice.
However, takeout and delivery service can continue.
This step is being taken because of the coronavirus pandemic. Michigan is not alone. Several other states and major cities have already closed down these businesses.
Hamtramck is home to a sizeable number of people who work in the food and bar industry.
There is no word yet if there will be federal or state legislation to help these folks financially.
Michigan has 53 cases of confirmed coronavirus cases. Nationwide, there are over 3,600 cases in 49 states. West Virginia is the only state not reporting an outbreak.

Maybe the bars in West Virginia are still open!
But seriously, there are bars in the city who make tons of revenue on St. Patrick’s Day to cover operating losses during the rest of the year.
This will hurt.

Add Bumbo’s to your list. As usual you are out of the loop and I find your use of the word hipster incredibly misguided.

Our lists are for those bars and restaurants that are offering carryouts and/or deliveries. We have also included those bars/restaurants that normally offer food service but have decided to shut down completely. Bars that don’t normally offer food service have no choice but to close. Some bars may have a license to sell beer to go.
Also, this is by no means a complete list.
Sorry for the confusion.
