At about 3 p.m. today (Wednesday, March 21) Hamtramck High School received a threat from a caller who said “tomorrow we will shoot up the school.”
As a result, all evening act ivies at the high school, the community center and Horizon High School have been canceled.
Also, those buildings will be closed Thursday, March 22.
“We must take the threat seriously,” said Superintendent Tom Niczay in a reference to the closings.
All other school buildings will be open on Thursday.
No other details about the call were available. Niczay did add, however, that the Hamtramck police are investigating the matter.
