Calling all Goodfellows, we’re ready for your close-up

The holiday season is fast approaching and it’s time once again for Hamtramck’s Goodfellows to swing into action.
Needy families and individuals can now pick up applications for a food coupon that will be distributed right before Christmas. The coupons, ranging in value of $20 to $30, are redeemable at A & C Market.
The applications are available at the Treasurer’s Office in City Hall, the Hamtramck Housing Administrative office on Dequindre and Commor and the Public School District office on Roosevelt St., next to Keyworth Stadium.
All applications must be submitted no later than Dec. 15.
But before any of the coupons are distributed, the Goodfellows need to raise $5,000 to $7,000. One key to reach that goal is to hold an old-fashioned newspaper sale, which will be a special issue of The Review, on Dec. 4.
Volunteers are always needed, and those who are willing to participate are invited to a group photo-shoot in front of City Hall this Monday (Nov. 23) at 9:30 a.m.
