Car wash offers a personal touch in making your car shine

You won’t get any old car wash at International Detail located on Jos. Campau in the southend.

Don’t look now Hamtramck, but a business on the southend has begun to wash away its opponents.
International Detail, located at 8422 Jos. Campau, has become the new and convenient place to get your car cleaned. It’s the only detail shop in Hamtramck. And with a $99.99 charge for a full package detail, which includes interior and exterior washing, shampooing carpeting, waxing, polishing, and engine cleaning. it is also the cheapest way to have your car looking brand spanking new in no time.
Hakeem Adam, who is a Hamtramck resident and part owner of International Detail, said he and his partner pride themselves on making sure they meet their customer needs.
“If you are at home or at work and can’t make it to the shop, it’s no problem,” Adam said. “Pickup and delivery service is always available. You just have to call in with your location and we’ll come right to you.”
The convenience doesn’t stop there.
Once you arrive at the shop and hand off your keys to one of the workers, you can go wait at the lobby. In there, they have leather couches, free wifi, a big screen television, and an Xbox One console for customers to keep themselves entertained while their cars are being washed.
“What we try to do here is make the carwash experience for our customers a little less dull and a bit more exciting,” said Nashwan Abduallah, who is also a part owner of International Detail. “That’s why we have things like free wifi, cable television, a game console and a dart board. We want our customers to feel like they’re at home, even while getting their car cleaned.”
International Detail does hand car washes as well. Prices vary depending on the size of your vehicle. They charge $17 for a large SUV, $14 for a minivan or a smaller SUV, and $12 for a regular-sized car.
The carwash first opened in December of 2013. Since then, business has kept expanded according to its owners. Abdullah believes it is the great customer service that people receive when getting their car washed or detailed that has them returning to the shop.
“Our work here is guaranteed,” said Abdullah. “If a customer is not happy with our service, we give them a full refund. We also ask them to tell us what it is we did wrong, because we are more than willing to fix the problem.”
Kristen Thompson, who is a customer at International Detail, agrees with Abdullah.
“The workers here have always done an incredible job on my Jeep,” Thompson said. “So much so that I have referred this place to a few people I work with in appreciation. The free pickup and drop off was the cherry on top.”
According to Adam, what inspired them to name their car wash “International Detail” was because of its location being in Hamtramck.
“When you lived here your whole life like I have, you come to realize that this city is home to a lot of different nationalities,” said Adam. “So when we thought about naming the place, Nashwan and I wanted to come up with something that was not only catchy, but it also had to have meaning. That’s when we came up with the name International Detail.”
International Details’ slogan is: “If your car is not becoming to you, it should be coming to us.”
Abdullah added, “If a customer is considering a new wash, they should look into our slogan and they’ll find their answer.”
International Detail is located at 8422 Jos. Campau. They are open seven days a week and even on some holidays, Monday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Their phone number is (313) 338-3186.
