Crime Log… 10/3/14

This week’s Crime Log covers Sept. 23-29.
Tuesday, September 23
At about 12:30 a.m. a man reported that he was assaulted by another man during a card game.
At about 4:30 a.m. officers checked on the occupants of a car blocking the front door of the Mobil gas station on Caniff. The pair was found passed out, and arrested for having open intoxicants, possessing narcotics paraphernalia and obstructing officers.
A woman was arrested during a traffic stop at Conant and Doremus for driving without a license and having fake insurance.
A woman living in the 12000 block of Selfridge reported a break-in and the theft of her refrigerator, stove and clothes. The woman gave a name of a possible suspect.
A man was arrested during a traffic stop for driving without a license and violating the city’s knife ordinance.
At a little after 6 p.m. an attempted kidnapping was reported in the Buffalo-Norwalk area. A suspect, described as a black male, about 40 years old, with bushy hair and wearing a yellow shirt and red plaid jacket, grabbed an 11-year-old girl. A girlfriend of the victim managed to pull the girl away. The suspect then threatened the two with a knife. The girls ran to a nearby house to call for help.
A man was arrested for assaulting his wife at their residence in the 11400 block of Moran.
A Danforth man reported someone broke into his van and stole his orange lawn mower.

Wednesday, September 24
Two men were arrested while in the 9000 block of Jos. Campau for drinking in public.
A Sobieski resident reported a man and a woman attempted to swindle money from a neighbor by offering to perform roof repairs and talking their way into the senior’s home. The pair was seen driving a new black Jeep with a ladder attached to the vehicle’s roof.
A man reported receiving threatening phone calls from a person he knows. He said the person threatened to kill him.
A man reported that his son was assaulted while at Gallagher and Jacob.

Thursday, September 25
At 7 a.m. a resident reported the theft of their license plate.
A resident reported someone spray-painted the side of a building at 11460 Mitchell.
A break-in was reported in the 3500 block of Caniff where an iPad was stolen.
A resident reported the theft of their bike while at Keyworth Stadium.

Friday, September 26
At 11 p.m. officers responded to a domestic dispute call from a residence in the 12000 block of Oklahoma.
At 4 a.m. a man was arrested during a traffic stop for being wanted on a felony warrant.
A woman reported someone went into her car while it was parked in the 3900 block of Norwalk. She said nothing was stolen.
A resident reported his brother used his identity without permission.
A resident reported a garage break-in and the theft of a lawnmower, bike and other items. The owner also said the words “thug life” and a profanity were spray-painted on the garage.
A woman was arrested for prostitution while at Jos. Campau and Trowbridge.

Saturday, September 27
At about 12:30 a.m. three people were arrested for being disorderly while at Caniff and St. Aubin.
A Holmes resident reported a garage break-in and the theft of two air conditioners and assorted lawn equipment.

Sunday, September 28
At 1 a.m. a person turned in a handgun found on a street.
A business in the 3900 block of Christopher reported a break-in.
A Detroit resident was arrested during a traffic stop for being wanted on a Hamtramck warrant.
A resident living in the 12000 block of Lumpkin reported a break-in and several items stolen.

Monday, September 29
A resident in the 2200 block of Goodson reported the theft of his gun.
A man was arrested during a traffic stop for being wanted on a Hamtramck warrant.
A resident reported that someone stole his license plate and swapped it with a stolen license plate from a car registered in Clinton Twp.
