This week’s Crime Log covers Dec. 16-21.
Tuesday, December 16
A Detroit teen was arrested for driving a stolen vehicle.
Officers recovered a stolen car out of Detroit in the 11400 block of Mitchell.
Three Detroit residents were arrested following a traffic stop for driving without a license, having improper plates, possessing an open bottle of liquor, obstruction and possessing narcotic paraphernalia. Officers also confiscated a loaded AK-47.
A resident in the 2200 block of Evaline reported a car theft.
Wednesday, December 17
A Detroit man was arrested for driving without a license and possessing fraudulent proof of insurance.
A Detroit man and a Southfield woman were arrested following a traffic stop for possessing narcotic paraphernalia.
A Trowbridge resident reported that someone stole a UPS package from her front porch.
A Detroit man was arrested on numerous charges after crashing into a Wayne County Sheriff and then fleeing. A deputy was injured in the crash. The man was captured and charged with felony drunk driving and fleeing and eluding. The man was also found to be wanted in a previous hit and run at a local gas station.

 
Thursday, December 18
A Trowbridge resident reported a break-in at his apartment.
At a little after 11 a.m. a woman was arrested in the 9300 block of Conant for stealing her friend’s prescription.
A resident reported someone stole the bell ringer from his front door.
A man reported that while walking in the 2300 block of Danforth a woman let her pet pit bull out and that the dog then chased him and bit his boot.
A resident reported that her car keys had been stolen and then her Neon Dodge went missing. A neighbor of the resident, however, saw a local 14-year-old boy driving the car. The parents of the teen were told of the incident. The car owner declined to press charges.
A resident said that a person she knows used her child’s ID information to claim an IRS deduction.
A man reported that while his car was parked at McDonald’s on Jos. Campau, someone ransacked it and stole his wallet.
A resident reported that while at Jos. Campau and Grayling, a man approached him and demanded $20. The resident refused and the man punched him in the chest and stomach. The man then pulled a knife and swung it at the resident, cutting the resident’s hand.

 
Friday, December 19
A resident in the 2400 block of Commor reported that someone damaged the passenger side mirror of his Chevy Malibu.
Officers arrested a man they saw pushing a water heater on a dolly at Mackay and Zinow. When questioned about it, the man admitted he took it from an abandoned house on Pulaski.
A resident reported someone damaged the tires on his 2006 Volkswagen while it was parked in the 2900 block of Jacob.
A teenager was arrested for domestic violence after fighting with his mother.
A resident reported the theft of his 2005 Saab while it was parked in the 3400 block of Doremus.
An agent of New Dodge Bar on Jos. Campau reported that a 50-year-old man kicked the front door as he was being kicked out. The kick to the door shattered glass.

Saturday, December 20
A Bernard resident reported his live-in girlfriend was missing.
A resident reported that he had been assaulted by his uncle.
A Detroit man was arrested for possessing an open bottle of liquor, obstruction and resisting arrest.
A resident in the 1900 block of Trowbridge reported a person she knows broke out her window.
A resident reported that a neighbor threatened her with a handgun while she was walking her dog in the 2000 block of Yemans.
An agent from Steve’s Party store said a suspect cashed a fraudulent check.
A resident in the 12000 block of Grand Haven reported the theft of her car. The car was later recovered and returned to the owner.
A resident was arrested after leaving the scene of an accident. The woman had crashed her car into a pole at Jos. Campau and Caniff.

 
Sunday, December 21
At a little after midnight, officers stopped a driver in a stolen car. The car had been stolen in Detroit. The driver was arrested.
A resident reported that three women assaulted her and damaged her grandmother’s 2014 Ford Escape in the 2600 block of Norwalk.
A man reported a woman attempted to cut him with a knife while he was at her residence in the 11600 block of Lumpkin.
A Detroit man was arrested for having improper license plates following a traffic stop at Jos. Campau and Belmont.
A man reported someone attempted to break into his garage in the 2200 block of Trowbridge.
