          This week’s Crime Log covers May 23 through May 28.

Thursday, May 23

At about 11:30 p.m., a person reported his 10-speed bike was stolen in the 2100 block of Caniff by an unknown male wearing a white T-shirt.

A few minutes past midnight, four teens were arrested for violating the city’s curfew.

At about 3:30 a.m., a resident in the 3100 block of Jacob reported damage to his car’s front window and the front window of his residence. A little while later, a resident on the 3200 block of Jacob reported damage to the front window of his house.

At almost 5 p.m., a person reported someone broke into his house in the 11300 block of Lumpkin and stole items.                                                       

At around 9:30 p.m. a male was arrested in the 2700 block of Florian St. for breaking and entering and obstructing officers. Police said a neighbor called them to report a suspicious male attempting to enter the residence.

 

Friday, May 24

At almost 2:30 a.m., a person reported being sexually assaulted by a white male wearing dark clothing and having short black hair. The incident happened in the 11000 block of Fleming St.

At 9 a.m. a woman reported that her ex-boyfriend assaulted her at a residence in the 11000 block of St. Aubin. The suspect fled before officers arrived, although his name is known.

At 10 a.m., a woman was arrested at Subway sandwich shop at 9117 Jos. Campau for stealing a bag of chips.

A little after 10 a.m., a woman reported that three men broke into her 2010 Chrysler Town & Country from a parking lot at 11410 Charest. The woman said the vehicle’s navigation system was taken.

At about 2 p.m., a woman reported her ex-boyfriend, with whom she has a child, assaulted her. The woman said she was burned with an iron. During the investigation, the suspect returned to the residence and he was then arrested.

Saturday, May 25

At about 3 p.m. a woman reported that someone broke into her house in the 2300 block of Danforth.

At 4 p.m. a woman reported that several juveniles damaged the side of her house in the 2900 block of Hanley St.

 

Sunday, May 26

Officers transported a child to Children’s Hospital after becoming violent.

At about 5 a.m. officers were forced to kill what was described as a vicious pit bull who charged at officers. The dog was found in the 12000 block of Lumpkin St. The initial complaint about the dog was for its non-stop barking.

At about 8 p.m. a man reported being assaulted by four black juveniles while in the 8900 block of Jos. Campau. The man said the youths stole his phone and were last seen running westbound on Danforth St.

A pedestrian was struck by a car at Edwin and Conant. The driver, however, drove off without stopping.

Another driver, however, was arrested at Lumpkin and Commor for a hit and run accident involving a pedestrian.

 

Monday, May 27

Officers transported a pit bull to the Humane Society. No other information was available.

At 1:30 a.m. two black males attempted to steal a car from a residence in the 5200 block of Yemans St.

At 5 a.m. a woman was arrested for drunk driving while at Caniff and Dyar.

At 10:30 a.m. a woman reported she was assaulted on Sunday at Pulaski Park. She knew the name of the attacker but it was not released.

A Lehman St. resident was arrested at 10:22 a.m. for attempted robbery at Payless Shoe store on Jos. Campau.

A woman living in the 12000 block of Grand Haven St. reported that a person tried to run her over, but missed and then struck a gas meter. A gas leak then erupted. The Fire Department was called to take care of the leak.

At 3:30 p.m. a wallet was found in the 11000 block of Gallagher, and it was returned to its owner.

At about 2 p.m. a woman reported her 2000 Chrysler Town & Country was stolen in the 2000 block of Belmont.

 

Tuesday, May 28

While responding to a possible break-in at a business located in the 11500 block of Conant, officers observed a man leave the scene. Officers said it was unknown to them if the man had caused apparent damage to the door of the business.

 

A juvenile was taken to a hospital after threatening to harm herself.

While in Hamtramck 31st District Court, two men submitted fraudulent proof of car insurance to the city attorney.

A man reported that his son ran away from home five days earlier.

A man living in the 11300 block of Lumpkin reported someone broke into his garage.

A couple living in the 11400 block of Mitchell reported someone broke into their home between 1:30 and 3:30 p.m.

A woman reported receiving harassing communications.

Two kids reported two males stole their bikes while at 9028 Jos. Campau. Officers searched the area and found the suspects. They were arrested.
