This week’s Crime Log covers Aug. 5-11.
Tuesday, August 5
At 2 a.m. officers recovered a car that had just been stolen. The recovery was made following a police chase. The suspects were able to run away. A replica gun was found inside the vehicle.
At almost 3:30 a.m. a person in the 2000 block of Trowbridge reported the attempted theft of his 2014 Ford Fusion.
A person was arrested during a traffic stop for being wanted on a Hamtramck warrant for failure to pay a Hamtramck income tax.
A Hanley resident accused a neighbor of poisoning his dog.
A business in the 3900 block of Christopher reported a break-in.

Wednesday, August 6
A man reported someone broke into his residence.
A person was arrested for obstructing officers during a traffic stop.
A man turned in a wallet he found in the Evaline-Edwin area.
Two men were arrested at Jos. Campau-Norwalk on numerous charges, including carrying a concealed weapon.

Thursday, August 7
Two men were arrested in the Brombach-Edwin area for carrying a concealed weapon.
A man reported the theft of his 2014 Ford Escape while it was parked on Hanley and Jos. Campau. The vehicle was later recovered in the Harold-Alpena area.
Walter’s Party Store reported a customer gave them a bad check.
A parent was ticketed for leaving his three children in a condemned building to clean it.
Five to six males stole a purple Huffy bike in the 11700 block of Carpenter.
Friday, August 8
A woman reported the theft of her 2014 Ford Escape from her residence in the 2000 block of Edwin. The car was later recovered on Moenart.
A man reported that someone broke out a window in his car while it was parked in the 11400 block of Conant.
A person was arrested during a traffic stop for a number of offenses, including driving without a license, possessing drug paraphernalia and being wanted on an outstanding Hamtramck warrant.
Saturday, August 9
At 11:15 p.m. a person was assaulted by seven males. One suspect stole the victim’s bike.
At about 4 a.m. a man reported being assaulted by two people known to him while he was at his residence on Dyar.
At nearly 4 a.m. two juveniles were apprehended for violating the city’s curfew. They were turned over to their parents.
A Detroit woman reported being assaulted by a family friend two months ago while at Jos. Campau and Holbrook.

Sunday, August 10
A woman living in the 5000 block of Yemans reported someone broke into her garage.
At almost 1 a.m. a person was arrested for possessing an open bottle of liquor while at Carpenter and Selfridge.
At almost 2 a.m. a person was arrested for urinating in public.
Monday, August 11
A person was arrested in the 2200 block of Grayling for threatening two others with a knife.
A resident reported someone damaged their garage door.
A man was arrested in a store in the 11900 block of Carpenter after threatening another man with a hammer.
