          This week’s Crime Log covers Aug. 20-26.

Tuesday, Aug. 20

         

          A man was arrested on Holbrook after a robbery victim identified him as the suspect.

          A 16-year-old Highland Park resident turned himself over to police for a break-in he committed at Bridge Academy on Buffalo St.

Officers arrived at a household in the 11500 block of Fleming St. to investigate a domestic abuse complaint, but the suspect had already fled.

          A man living in the 3400 block of Comstock reported that a family friend knocked on the front door, holding a rock in one hand and a handgun in the other. The man slammed the door shut and called 911. The suspect fled.

          Two men were arrested at the Mobil I-75 gas station for outstanding Hamtramck warrants. One warrant was for possessing drugs and another for obstructing police.

          A woman reported that while walking on Holbrook, a bald man wearing a white T-shirt and tan shorts grabbed a gold chain from her neck.     

Wednesday, Aug. 21

          A little after midnight, a woman reported her neighbor pointed a handgun at her following a dispute. The suspect fled in a car, but another person at the scene was arrested for obstructing officers.

          A man was arrested for possessing narcotic paraphernalia while at Caniff and Grand Haven.

          An Edwin St. woman reported someone broke into her house and stole several items.

          A Whalen St. man reported he was robbed by a man armed with a handgun. The suspect stole the man’s gold chain from his neck.

          A man reported that his step-daughter ran away while she was at a dentist’s office on Conant.      

          Officers were called to Edwin and Brombach where a woman had fallen off her bike and remained on the ground. The woman was taken to Detroit Receiving Hospital.

          A man reported he received threatening text messages.

          An Oliver St. woman reported someone stole her mail.

A Trowbridge St. resident reported that her house was broken into by a former resident.                                                                                               

A representative from PNA Hall on Conant reported that someone stole the bar’s cash register, which contained $1,600.

          An Auburn Hills resident was arrested after snatching a gold chain from a resident’s neck and attempting to the flee the scene.

          A Jos. Campau dentist reported being threatened by a patient.

          A Rochester Hills resident was arrested for drunk driving after he struck a vehicle and fled the scene on foot.

Thursday, Aug. 22

          At about 11:30 p.m., a person reported that while at the PNC drive-through ATM, a group of four to five black males, all wearing black clothing, robbed the person at gunpoint.

          A Charest St. resident reported receiving threatening phone calls from a relative.

          A man living in the 2400 block of Burger St. reported someone broke into his enclosed porch and damaged the screen door.

Friday, Aug. 23

          A man living in the 3800 block of Harold St. reported the theft his 2007 Cadillac Escalade.

          A man reported that his 2004 Land Rover was stolen while it was parked in the 3300 block of Doremus St. The car was later recovered in downtown Detroit on West Layfette.

          A Detroit resident was arrested at Lehman and Jos. Campau for obstructing officers and for having an outstanding felony warrant for his arrest in Novi.

          A man and a woman attempted to pass counterfeit $20 bills at a Jos. Campau business. The pair fled in a white Mercedes Benz.

Saturday, Aug. 24

          Officers confiscated a fake gun after receiving a call about a person holding it.

          At 3 a.m., a Jacob St. man was arrested for assaulting his girlfriend at their residence.

          An Evaline St. woman reported someone broke into her car and stole the radio.

          Detroit police reported they recovered a stolen shotgun from Hamtramck.

          At about 5 p.m. a woman reported that a group of four black males, all wearing black clothing, grabbed her purse while she was walking on Jos. Campau at Norwalk.

         

          Officers captured a loose brown pit bull that was in the area of Norwalk and Conant. The dog was taken to the Westland Humane Society.                               

An Oklahoma St. resident reported her residence was broken into and several items were stolen.                                                                           

          A Holbrook St. resident reported ongoing problems with her landlord and had received threats from several other people.

                                                                  

Sunday, Aug. 25

          A driver was arrested for drunk driving after causing an accident around 1 a.m. at Jos. Campau and Casmere.

          Also at about that time, another person was arrested after a traffic stop for not having a driver’s license and carrying a weapon without a license to carry a concealed weapon.

          A Danforth St. woman reported that her live-in boyfriend had moved out and refused to return her house keys.

          A resident turned into the police station a canvas handbag containing numerous items. Police tagged it as found property.

          Officers responded to an alarm at a building in the 5000 block of Edwin St. and found the front door broken. Surveillance footage revealed that a suspect stole two large spools of copper wiring.

          The owner of Burk’s Igloo reported someone spray-painted his building.

          A Warren woman reported her purse was stolen the day before by a person she knows.

Monday, Aug. 26

          A woman reported that another woman she knows stole $137 from Campau Tower.

          At 10:30 a.m. a Caniff St. resident reported two men stole her purse while she walking on Caniff near Mackay. The suspects were last seen running away. A few minutes later, an Edwin St. woman reported a man snatched her gold necklace from her neck while she was walking near Jos. Campau and Belmont. A witness told police that the suspect ran to a waiting white Ford Taurus.

          At 11:40 a.m., another woman reported that a man ripped off her gold necklace while she was at Jos. Campau near Florian.

          A Trowbridge St. woman reported she was assaulted by her boyfriend.
