Crime Log is a compilation of the more interesting or informative items taken from Hamtramck Police Reports, from between the dates of Thursday, August 23 to Wednesday, August 29.

From Thursday, August 23:

 A woman living in the 2200 block of Caniff reported that her husband threatened to kill her and her two minor children during a domestic dispute. Her husband was gone by the time the police arrived.

 A man living in the 12000 block of Klinger reported that someone broke into his vehicle and stole his GPS unit, sometime on this date between 1 a.m. and 8 a.m.

 At 4:45 p.m., a patron of a bar in the 10200 block of Jos. Campau reported that a black male, about 20 years old, 6’ tall and wearing a white shirt and blue pants, entered the bar, took the victim’s cell phone, and then ran out.

 Just after 8:30 p.m., an employee of a bar in the 11800 block of Jos. Campau reported that two black males stole her wallet from her purse while she had gone outside to have a cigarette.

 A woman living in the 11700 block of Klinger reported that someone stole a bike out of her back yard.

 Also on this date, Detroit Police recovered two vehicles that had been reported stolen in Hamtramck.

From Friday, August 24:

 A wallet was turned in to the station that had been found behind a home in the 2300 block of Pulaski.

 A man living in the 3800 block of Evaline reported that his garage had been broken into, and items subsequently stolen.

 A woman living in the 3100 block of Belmont reported that someone had broken into her home earlier today, between 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.

 A man was arrested in the 12000 block of Grand Haven after he assaulted his daughter during an argument.

 A woman living in the 2600 block of Belmont reported that her neighbor stole the collars off of her cats. The other woman was placed under arrest at the scene.

 Also on this date, Warren Police recovered a vehicle that had been previously reported stolen in Hamtramck.
From Saturday, August 25:
 Officers responded to a domestic dispute situation in the 11000 block of St. Aubin. No arrests were made.

 A man was arrested for being disorderly, just after 1:30 a.m. in the 11400 block of Jos. Campau.

 At 3:00 a.m., officers made another arrest for disorderly conduct, this time of a female.

 A man living in the 5100 block of Belmont reported that two white men tried to enter his residence in a dispute over money.

 A man was arrested for public intoxication a bit after 6 p.m., after he tried to start a fight with some juveniles near Conant and Miller.

From Sunday, August 26:

 In the early morning hours, police made three arrests, two for domestic violence and one on a charge of felonious assault.

 A resident living in the 5100 block of Belmont reported being the victim of a larceny.

 Officers investigated an open door at a school in the 2400 block of Denton at around 11:20 a.m. An agent for the school arrived on the scene and took over. Nothing appeared to be missing.

 A Clinton Township resident reported the theft of his silver 2003 Dodge Caravan minivan, license plate number AZY 11, from the area of Caniff and Conant at around 3 p.m.

From Monday, August 27:

 Officers responded to a call of shots fired in the 3200 block of Trowbridge. When they arrived, they could find no complainant, and no evidence to support the call.

 A short time after 11:30 a.m., a man reported money missing from his wallet while he was at a Laundromat in the 8800 block of Jos. Campau. Additionally, a woman reported her cell phone stolen as well. Two black males had been seen leaving the area around the time of the crimes, but no further description was given.

 A woman was arrested as disorderly by officers investigating an incident in the 9500 block of Charest.

 An employee of a bank in the 3200 block of Carpenter reported the theft of two refrigeration compressors, sometime between Monday, August 20 and today.

 Officers recovered eleven .40 caliber shell casings from the area of Conant and Trowbridge at about ten minutes after 9 p.m.

 A person living in the 2000 block of Belmont reported the theft of a pair of Mongoose BMX bikes from their back yard, sometime today between 1 a.m. and 8 a.m.

From Tuesday, August 28:

 Just after 1 a.m., a man living in the 2200 block of Holbrook reported that someone threw a brick through his home’s window.

 At about 2:40 p.m., a woman living in the 12000 block of Fleming reported her window broken out with a rock. She then called the station again, less than an hour later, to report that someone had thrown a bottle of some flammable liquid at her home, causing a small fire on her porch, which the fire department responded to and extinguished.

 A man living in the 3800 block of Yemans reported being broken into sometime between August 18 and today at noon. He named, as a likely suspect, another man known to him.

 A man was arrested in the 9700 block of Dequindre for domestic violence after assaulting his girlfriend.
 A woman turned in a Detroit Police badge that she had found in the parking lot of a big box store in Roseville. Why she brought it to Hamtramck Police was not clear.

 Just after 2 p.m., officers responding to an arson call found several milk crates burning near the wall of the ice rink in Veterans Park. About an hour and a half later, they arrested a juvenile for setting fire again to the wall itself. The Fire Department put out the fire, and gathered and tagged the evidence, while the youth was taken to a youth home.

 A Detroit man reported the theft of his red 1993 Pontiac Transport minivan, license plate number BZP 9944, from the area of Jos. Campau and Danforth at about 4:45 p.m.

 A resident of Barham was arrested for open intoxicants and loitering at Conant and Holbrook at around ten minutes before 8 p.m.

From Wednesday, August 30:

 A couple reported thefts from both of their vehicles, outside their home in the 2300 block of Neibel at about 11:20 p.m. last night.

 Also just before 11:30 p.m. last night, a man who resides in the 9400 block of Gallagher states that he was robbed out in front of his address by three black males, who implied that they had a gun.

 A man reported that his neighbor rammed his 2004 Honda with his own vehicle around ten minutes after 10 a.m., and then fled the area.

 A resident living in the 2600 block of Caniff reported the theft of his 2002 Chrysler Voyager minivan. The vehicle had already turned up, with damage, in Harper Woods, according to their police department.

 Also on this date, the DPW was notified of a large tree blocking the road on Lumpkin, near Commor.
