Donate your used books for a good cause

By Sean Shadaia

Recycled Knowledge Books cares about literacy and wants to help educate Hamtramck’s youth. By donating your used, old and unwanted textbooks, cookbooks, novels, magazines and comics, you can help improve their future.

For every book you donate, Recycled Knowledge Books will donate a portion of the proceeds generated by your donations to help support Hamtramck Public Schools’ Libraries and the Hamtramck Public Library. Reading is a key part of our kids’ education and it is our mission to ensure each child receives the opportunity to learn and to read.

My name is Sean Shadaia and I am the President of Recycled Knowledge Books. My family has had businesses in Hamtramck for over 26 years and over the course of those 26 years I have witnessed Hamtramck morph into a multicultural diverse community many of us call home. For the ensured success of Hamtramck, funding for the educational system is sorely needed.

State budget cuts are stripping programs that would normally be in place for our children. The monies allocated by the State of Michigan have to be stretched to the max. Recycled Knowledge Books wants to give a helping hand.

By merely sorting through all the books you and your family have accumulated over the years and donating those books at any of our three (3) locations in Hamtramck, you can help ensure the success and viability of Hamtramck’s future.

Donate books, support literacy.

I’ve been looking for a place to donate a couple boxes of comics. These are mostly DC books from around 2010 to fairly recently. Books include
    Shazam
    Superman
    Batman
    Justice League
    Paper girls
    And a few others

I’ve tried to keep these as full story arcs, so for the most part they are multiple issues that tell a complete story, not just random cherry picked issues.

Please let me know if you are interested.

    Good Morning!

4th and 5th graders at my school would love to have a book drive and donate their gently used books to Recycled Knowledge Books. I am Dean of Students at this independent school in a suburb of Detroit. Can you explain the best process for us to donate if we have multiple boxes of books. Is there a particular age group that needs books? I know we can come up with a good number of picture books and middle school age novels. Does this work for your organization. I look forward to hearing from you.
