This year, the parade and festival were a smash

It’s weird to say this but, we’re glad the Polish Day Parade decided to leave Hamtramck and move to Warren.
Why?
Well, first of all, we wish the Polish Day Parade organizers no ill will.
But that parade’s exit allowed Hamtramck residents to form their own parade.
We didn’t know what to expect, but we knew it would be good.
And the local organizers of the Hamtramck Labor Day Parade did not disappoint.
In fact, it was everything we hoped for and so, so much more.
The parade was truly representative of Hamtramck’s cultural diversity and its can-do spirit, mixed all up with this city’s unique sense of humor.
And that spirit is something that has been sorely missing lately. We could not be prouder of the city and the people who live here.
We can hardly wait to see what’s in store for next year.
To the parade and festival organizers, this was a job well done, and you all deserve a huge “Thank You.”
And speaking of the festival: now, that was one freaking good time – which is something that’s also been badly needed around here.
