Wayne County Treasurer Sabree has earned our vote

We don’t often get involved in endorsing candidates, but we are making an exception in one race.
Wayne County Treasurer Eric R. Sabree is seeking re-election. He is on the Democratic side of the partisan ballot.
Sabree took over the reins from Hamtramck’s own Raymond Wojtowicz, and he has continued the good work Wojtowicz started in helping struggling households to ward off foreclosure just because they are suffering financially.
Sabree has greatly expanded that program, and didn’t hesitate to suspend foreclosures this year when the coronavirus pandemic first appeared.
Since then, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer jumped on board, and put a halt on foreclosures statewide.
Sabree has brought a lot of energy to his office, and continues to make improvements and streamline the process of paying property taxes and dealing with that complex and large office.
He is a people person, one who has his ears to the ground, and he knows the needs of Wayne County residents.
The county is lucky to have him.
The Review recommends a vote for ERIC R. SABREE for Wayne County Treasurer in this August Primary Election.

There were some conflict of interests concerns that have been raised over Eric Sabree.

The Detroit News has endorsed a primary opponent of Sabree, Beverly Kindle-Walker for the seat of Wayne County Treasuer, citing her 30 years of public sector experience.

@Roadman – Thanks for the post. Yes, Eric Sabree was in the news for ethical issue. I had forgotten about it. I was for Sabree. But your post is causing me to have a second thought.
