A Detroit man is facing multiple felony charges in a robbery attempt that could have resulted in two deaths – including his own.
Last Friday, at about 12:30 p.m., police allege that Kristofer Austin Dye, 21, entered Naya’s Jewelry in the 9500 block of Jos. Campau, and attempted a robbery.
What followed next has not been fully disclosed, but Dye ended up being shot four times, and a store employee was stabbed.
Both were treated at Detroit Receiving Hospital, and both have survived their injuries.
On Monday, Dye was arraigned in the Harper Woods District Court on five felony charges, including assault with intent to murder, which carries a maximum penalty of life in prison.
His bond was set at $200,000.
Hamtramck police released no further details about either Dye or the robbery attempt.
