We wouldn’t blame anyone in Hamtramck who may not be feeling the Thanksgiving Day spirit.
The city’s election turmoil and widening culture war has weighed down a number of folks.
Despite these obstacles, it’s important to focus on the positive aspects of Thanksgiving, which is this coming Thursday, Nov. 27.
No matter what, when it comes down to it, Hamtramck has only itself to turn to and make this a safe and prosperous community. And that requires strong connections between our people and our cultures.
Hamtramck is a small town, but we are large in spirit. People care about each other.
Thanksgiving is a time to give thanks and be thankful.
It’s a day we can rest and count our blessings.
Despite our occasional setbacks, we are survivors here. And we are also quick to lend a helping hand to our neighbors.
That is community spirit. And, that is Hamtramck.
There is a true sense that we are all in this together here. And that means working together, and not working against one another.
So, on Thanksgiving Day, take time to reflect — and ask yourself: how can I help better our community?
Also this week, the traditional start of the holiday shopping rush begins, so be sure to go out and support our local businesses.
Note to our readers: This week, The Review hit the streets on Wednesday instead of the usual Friday because of our printer’s schedule.
