Breaking news: Search is over for missing teen

Update: Maria Armstrong has been found safe and sound. School officials worked with the Police Department to find her. No further details were provided.

The Hamtramck family of a 16-year-old girl is reporting her missing since Tuesday (Oct. 24).
According to her family, Maria Armstrong was last seen at Hamtramck High School but did not report to her last class of the day.
A missing child report was made to the Hamtramck Police Department.
Maria Armstrong, of Jacob St., is described as having a brown complexion, black hair, brown eyes, 4 feet and 11 inches tall and weighing 145 pounds.
She was also last seen wearing:
o Black pants
o Pink/gray high top Nike gym shoes
o Brown leather jacket
o Pink backpack
Her aunt, Keshia Bowers, said Maria “always contacts (her) mom or myself with a text or phone call to let us know she is OK and where she is. She did not contact anyone this time. A friend says that she and Maria had plans to meet some other friends at a local park that day after school. The friend never met Maria there. We do not know who they had plans to meet up with.”
The family said it just discovered that Maria had a boyfriend that she recently broke up with.
“Friends of Maria have reported the boyfriend has been contacting them via Maria’s social media accounts since her disappearance and they believe that he may have her phone,” Bowers said.
Bowers added: “That seems to be a red flag for us.”
While the ex-boyfriend has been active on Maria’s social media accounts, Maria herself has not been.
