This week’s Crime Log covers Jan. 6-12.
Tuesday, January 6
A woman was arrested in Port Huron on a Hamtramck warrant.
A man was arrested at the Wayne County Jail for being wanted on 10 felony warrants out of Hamtramck.
A Detroit man was arrested following a traffic stop for having fraudulent license plates, being wanted on a warrant and driving without a license.

Wednesday, January 7
A man in the 5600 block of Caniff was arrested for animal cruelty.
At about 7:30 a.m. a resident in the 2600 block of Whalen said that while her 2001 Nissan was warming up a young man wearing an orange jacket stole it. The car was recovered after it had crashed at Caniff and Charest.
A business owner in the 9500 block of Jos. Campau said he was swindled into paying $500 for a $5,000 business loan through an e-mail.
A resident in the 2300 block of Danforth reported the attempted theft of their car.

Thursday, January 8
A teenager in the 3500 block of Caniff was arrested for domestic violence.
At about 1 p.m. a Detroit man was arrested after a foot chase in the area of Edwin and Alpena. The man had just crashed a stolen vehicle.
An empty rental dwelling was broken into in the 2300 block of Botsford and the landlord reported damage to the interior.
A man living in the 2400 block of Botsford reported someone stole his washer and dryer that were being stored in his backyard.
Friday, January 9
At about 1 p.m. officers responded to a homicide in the 3900 block of Prescott.
At a little after 1 p.m. a resident was arrested in the 3500 block of Caniff after interfering with firefighters while they responded to a fire alarm. The man also resisted arrest.
Two Detroit men were arrested after stealing a purse from a woman in the 12100 block of Conant. The purse was recovered.
A resident was arrested for having fraudulent tabs on his license plate. The car was impounded.

Saturday, January 10
At 1:30 a.m. a motorist was arrested for drunk driving following a hit-and-run incident at Conant and Caniff.
A resident in the 2300 block of Commor reported that someone made multiple prank fire calls regarding his residence to the Fire Department.
A resident in the 2300 block of Pulaski reported receiving harassing phone calls.
A Detroit resident was arrested for drunk driving during a traffic stop at Lumpkin and Andrus.

Sunday, January 11
At about 12:30 a.m. a motorist was arrested for driving without a license and having an open bottle of liquor.
At 1:30 a.m. a person was arrested for being disorderly following an investigation in the 2000 block of Caniff.
A Detroit resident was arrested for obstructing an officer and possessing narcotic paraphernalia following a foot chase.
A Norwalk resident was robbed at gunpoint while in the 2600 block of Casmere.
A resident reported the theft of his coat, containing his keys and phone, from his car that was parked on Jos. Campau. The coat and belongings were later recovered at another location.
Monday, January 12
At 11 p.m. a hit-and-run accident was reported at Trowbridge and Brombach.
A resident reported that a friend of a friend named “Tim” stole his medication from his residence in the 3500 block of Caniff.
A Detroit man turned himself into Hamtramck police for being wanted on a misdemeanor warrant.
