This week’s Crime Log covers Aug. 12-18.
Tuesday, August 12
At 11:45 p.m. a resident complained that a neighbor redirected his gutter spout to drain water to his backyard, which caused more flooding.
At 2 a.m. officers arrested a suspect who fled on foot after being pulled over in a traffic stop at Neibel and Carpenter. As it turned out, the suspect was driving a stolen minivan.
At almost 6 a.m. a man was arrested on a charge of felony domestic abuse after he severely beat his elderly father while at his father’s home in the 2700 block of Evaline.
Officers responded to a large fight at Holbrook and Gallagher, in which three men were arrested. One man with a gun ran away from the scene before officers arrived.
A resident in the 2700 block of Florian reported someone damaged his car.
A woman reported someone stole her son’s bike from the 2000 block of Yemans.
Wednesday, August 13
At about 11:30 p.m. two women reported being assaulted by a man while in the 9400 block of Conant.
At about 4 p.m. officers responded to Keyworth Stadium where a couple, a 22-year-old man and 16-year-old girl, were committing a sex act in public, including in view of at least 30 children. The man was arrested for indecent exposure and the girl was turned over to her parents.
A man was arrested during a traffic stop for driving without a license, having 18 suspensions and being wanted on a warrant.
A man walking on Conant near Jacob was robbed at gunpoint of his gold chain with the letter “W” on it.
A woman dropped off a female Husky dog she found running loose. The dog was taken to the Westland Humane Society.

Thursday, August 14

A Mitchell resident reported a person he knows stole his PlayStation and other items.
At 1 a.m. a man was arrested for trespassing and possessing an open bottle of liquor.
A woman reported being beaten up by her ex-boyfriend at Yemans and Buffalo.
After a chase, a man was arrested for attempting to steal a car at Yemans and Jos. Campau.

Friday, August 15
A Detroit woman was arrested during a traffic stop at Fleming and Commor for being wanted on a Hamtramck warrant.
A Mitchell resident reported that someone charged $2,000 to his checking account at Home Depot.
A Yemans resident reported someone stole and cashed a money order she sent to a friend in Oklahoma.

Saturday, August 16
A Taylor resident reported the theft of his car while it was parked in the 3800 block of Caniff. The car was later recovered by Detroit police.
Hamtramck auto theft detectives recovered two stolen cars.
A Detroit man was arrested for breaking into a residence in the 11000 block of Nagel.

Sunday, August 17
At 1:40 a.m. a man was arrested for driving recklessly in the area of Jos. Campau and Caniff.
Farmington Hills police arrested a man wanted on two Hamtramck warrants.
At a little after 2:30 a.m. a Grand Haven resident reported a person he knows took his car without permission.
Monday, August 18
