Crime Log … 9/4/15

Tuesday, August 25
At a little after 11 p.m. officers were alerted to an erratic driver, who officers found at Nagel and Commor. The driver threatened to harm herself and was taken to a crisis center. She was also charged with possessing cocaine.
At about 3:30 a.m. a Detroit resident was robbed of his cellphone and stabbed several times while walking near Conant and Belmont. The suspects were three males all wearing hoodies.
A person was arrested for trying to cash a fraudulent check.
A man was arrested for domestic violence after assaulting his mother.
At 2:30 p.m. two Detroit males were arrested after robbing a man of his cellphone at Evaline near Jos. Campau. One of the males was a teen.
A resident reported he was robbed of his cellphone and punched while at Holmes and Jos. Campau.
A Dyar resident was arrested after shoving his mother during an argument.
A Holmes resident reported someone used her credit card information to make fraudulent purchases.
A Hewitt property owner reported someone kicked in the front door of his vacant apartment and put assorted property inside that did not belong to him. Officers removed the property.
Two Detroit residents were arrested after being caught stealing items at Mr. Alan’s on Jos. Campau.

 
Wednesday, August 26
At 10 p.m. a resident reported being robbed by a lone male while in the 11300 block of McDougall.
At almost 11:30 p.m. a Norwalk resident reported seeing two males break into his car and steal a GPS unit and his proof of insurance.
At 12:30 a.m. a Holbrook resident reported that a man he knows by the name of “William” struck him four times with a shovel and then ran away.
At 4:30 a.m. a Detroit resident reported he witnessed a man he knows breaking out a car window on Carpenter.

 
Thursday, August 27
At a little after 9 p.m. a resident in the 2600 block of Holbrook said that when he walked into his residence he saw two males ransacking his home. The suspects fled. They gained entry by removing the resident’s window air condition unit and climbing in.
A resident reported the theft of his 2007 Cadillac from in front of his residence in the 11000 block of Dequindre.
A juvenile was arrested at Game Stop on Jos. Campau for retail fraud.
A contractor for the city reported a former employee returned a company vehicle with missing company property.
A Lincoln Park man was arrested for domestic violence after assaulting his girlfriend while they were walking on Mackay.

 
Friday, August 28
At 8 p.m. three residents were arrested for fighting in the middle of Jos. Campau at Edwin. Two were charged with being disorderly and the other was charged with destruction of property.
At 9:30 p.m. a male suspect entered a store in the 11400 block of Conant and reached over the counter, opened the cash register and fled with $500 to $1,000.
At a little after midnight a resident was arrested in the 2700 block of Carpenter for domestic violence, malicious destruction of property and being wanted on a Hamtramck warrant.
At almost 1:30 a.m. a Detroit resident with a history of being convicted of driving without a license 32 previous times was arrested again for that offense. He was also wanted on a Hamtramck warrant.
At a little past 1:30 a.m. officers found an extremely intoxicated senior citizen sleeping in his van in the 2400 block of Danforth. Because the man had such a high blood alcohol content he was taken to a hospital for treatment.
A man reported the theft of his license plate from his car that was parked in the 2600 block of Norwalk.
An Evaline resident reported the theft of his cellphone while playing basketball on Edwin.

 
Saturday, August 29
At 2 a.m. a caller told police that she had received a call from a friend at a bar in the 10300 block of Conant who said she heard a man threatening to shoot her friend if someone doesn’t bring money. Officers checked the area but found nothing.
At about 2 a.m. officers found a man passed out in his car at Conant and Caniff. When officers woke up the man, he swung at them. The man was arrested for assault and battery and possessing an open intoxicant.
At almost 5:30 a.m. a woman said that as she exited a cab a young man exited a brown Toyota Corolla, ran up to her and grabbed her breasts and then fled in the Toyota.
Officers were dispatched to Keyworth Stadium where a dispute over the ownership of a bicycle was taking place. Officers confiscated the bike until ownership could be proven.

 
Sunday, August 30
A man was seen forcefully gaining entry into a residence in the 2300 block of Norwalk.
At 8 p.m. a Jos. Campau resident was ticketed for possessing an open intoxicant.

 
Monday, August 31
A woman reported that her son’s red 1986 Honda scooter was stolen by a man and a woman who ordered the juvenile off the scooter while at Commor and Jos. Campau. The suspects threatened to shoot the juvenile if he attempted to run away. The mother of the juvenile later recovered the scooter at Commor and Grand Haven.
At about 11 p.m. officers responded to a break-in in the 2300 block of Norwalk. A man about 40 years old, 6-feet tall and wearing a red T-shirt and black shorts was seen entering the residence through a rear window. The suspect was scared off by the homeowner.
An agent for Oakland Academy reported the theft of 44 iPads.
An agent for Huntington Bank reported a person attempted to deposit a counterfeit check at the bank’s ATM.
Officers assisted a motorist who locked herself out of her car.
