Pet group has a deal for Hamtramck that’s worth barking about

If you have a pet dog or cat that needs to be fixed, be sure to drop by city hall next week. That’s where the non-profit group All About Animals Rescue will set up its mobile unit and offer spaying and neutering for whatever you can afford to pay.

Have a pet dog or cat that needs to be spayed or neutered?

If so, the organization All About Animals Rescue has a deal for you.

To commemorate having fixed 50,000 pets since 2005, the group is offering its services on a pay what you can afford basis.

The non-profit will park its mobile surgical vehicle in front of Hamtramck City Hall next Tuesday through Saturday (Aug. 14 through Aug. 18). They’ll also hold a special one day walk-in wellness care clinic on Wednesday, Aug. 15, from 10 a.m. to 3p.m., providing vaccinations, heartworm testing, microchipping, deworming and parasite prevention for pets at a low cost.

“There are a lot of families out there that just need a little help with their pets. And this is what we do best.
Spay/neuter is a proven method of reducing the number of unwanted animals and strays and the pet is healthier. It’s all wins here,” said Catherine Garrett, Director of Development and Marketing at All About Animals Rescue.

Spay/neuter appointments are available Tuesday, Aug. 14, and Thursday, Aug. 16, through Saturday, Aug. 18.

Appointments to fix your pet can be made by calling (586) 879-1745 or by requesting an appointment online at www.allaboutanimalsrescue.org. The group usually charges $80 for a dog spay/neuter and $40 for a cat.
