School Bell … 10/’21/22

Halloween fun
Does the prospect of having your kids running around on Halloween night, well, scare you?
Hamtramck may just have your solution.
Wednesday, Oct. 26, from 5-7 p.m. in Zussman Park, right across from City Hall, Hamtramck Public Safety will set up “Trunk or Treat,” a safe and fun alternative to having your little ones wandering the spooky boulevards of night.
Both fire and police vehicles will be present, trunks open and full of candy and treats. Other activities are planned.
And best of all? It’s free!

Donation
The Hamtramck firefighters recently donated 108 coats for kids at Hamtramck Public Schools.
Here’s what the firefighters had to say on Facebook:
“With the partnership of the schools, we’re able to provide assistance to low-income families and those in need. A big thank you goes out to Ferrous Processing & Trading, whose generous donation made it possible for us to provide even more assistance again this year!”

Checking in
Time flies when you’re having fun!
We are halfway through October and wanted to take a moment to check in with our students and families. If you have a question or concern about school, please don’t hesitate to contact your student’s principal or counseling office.
You can find contact information at our website https://www.hamtramckschools.org/.

Bilingual Child Month
Did you know there are more than 19 languages spoken at Hamtramck Public Schools?
This month, celebrating the Bilingual Child Month, we recognize the students who speak multiple languages at school and home. HPS is a place where all feel welcome and excited to live and learn.
