There is a new local café in town that delivers more than just a cup of coffee.

DeliteCafé & Deli, located at 3135 Caniff St., is the newest addition to the city’s growing culinary scene. Deli owner Jamal Jawany says his café aims to offer higher end food items and offers a variety of drinks ranging from smoothies to lattes.

Additionally, they serve a wide assortment of Middle Eastern and American pastries and deli sandwiches and features halal meat. They carry subs specifically from Boar’s Head, which is a company that specializes in quality meats.

Jawany said they make sure their products are healthy by carrying items that do not consist of trans-fat or artificial colors, and are gluten free. He also added that they serve specialty coffee that comes directly from the “Great Lakes coffee roasting company, who roasts coffee with precise temperature controls and measurements.”

As a resident of Hamtramck for the past 25 years, Jawany said his love for the city inspired him to create this business.

“People from Hamtramck drive miles away to find a great social environment and to enjoy great coffee and healthy food. Therefore, we decided to bring that atmosphere to Hamtramck,” Jawany said. “We love this city and we will always support it.”

Customers have taken to the DeliteCafé & Deli’s Facebook page to express their compliments.

One comment stated, “No words can describe how good the subs are, you have to try it for yourselves,” while another wrote, “By far the best cup of coffee I have ever had.”

To get a taste of the quality food and drinks, you can visit DeliteCafé & Deli from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. during weekdays and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on the weekends. They also offer free WiFi.
