‘Hamtramck Blowout’ is happening right now

By Alan Madlane
Spring has sprung, and that means one thing:
The Hamtramck Blowout is back again, all this weekend.
The music will be coming at you from all corners of this city and emanating from the bellies of 26 of this city’s bars, cafes, diners, book shops – heck, even the library itself is in on the game.
You could say they know what turns their pages.
The Blowout will feed you some 220 various musical acts.
It’d be an insult to call it anything less than Massive.
And even though this paper comes out on Friday mornings, and thus the Thursday night portion of the 2025 Blowout is now but a memory, there’s still a ton of entertainin’ to go on this full weekend.
Wristbands are $40, available from the website, hamtramckblowout.com. There, in fact, you will find all things Blowout-related, including the full schedules (you can use their new schedule-making tool to craft your own), venue map, and so much more.
At this point, you’ll want to pick up the wristbands in person after you buy them online.
Do so at Detroit Threads, 10238 Jos. Campau Ave., after 2 p.m. any time up until 2 a.m. both days, Friday and Saturday.
(If you’re in one of the performing acts, you can get your wristbands at the venue at which you’re playing).
And, not sure how many they’ve sold already, but if you’re one of the first 1,500 people to buy a wristband, you’ll also score Saturday night admission to the Detroit City Football Club’s first home match of their new season, over at Keyworth Stadium on the southend.
Just flash ‘em (the wristband) and in you get to go.
All in all, as Flounder would remind us in “Animal House,”
“Oh boy! This is gonna be great!”
