Hamtramck police are searching for a man wanted in the holdup of PNC Bank.

Police say a white male in his mid-50s waited calmly in line for a teller Wednesday around 11 a.m. without raising any suspicion. When he got to a teller’s window, he handed over a note demanding all $100 bills.

Detective Jackie Crachiola said he also implied he had a gun.

“He showed the butt of a gun, whether it was real or not we don’t know,” Crachiola said.

The suspect just as calmly walked out of the bank, located at the northeast corner of Jos. Campau and Caniff, last seen walking northbound on Jos. Campau.

Crachiola said she could not go into more details about the robbery. The man is also described as having short-cropped hair, brownish-gray in color, about 5-foot, 5-inches tall and wearing blue jeans, white sneakers and a black jacket, possibly a leather jacket.

Anyone with information is asked to call Hamtramck police at (313) 876-7800.
