Caniff will be closed temporarily for part of this week

Call it a dress rehearsal for the big Caniff project later this summer.
Starting tomorrow, Tuesday, March 26, repairs to a water main leak will cause the partial closure of Caniff from Jos. Campau to Conant.
The city issued a notice to businesses and residents in that area that the west-bound traffic lane will be closed, and that parking on both side of the street, north and south, will be prohibited.
Vehicles must be off the street no later than 6 a.m. on Tuesday.
Anyone violating the parking restriction will end up paying for their car being ticketed and towed away.
The good news is that the repair should be over by Wednesday or Thursday of this week at the latest.
Anyone with questions about the project can call either (313) 516-8755, or (734) 365-3553, or (734) 759-1600.
This is a preliminary step in the total remaking and repaving of Caniff from Jos. Campau to Conant that will happen sometime in June. That project will likely last all summer into early fall.
