Tuesday, July 16
A Hamtramck man and a Detroit woman were arrested for breaking into a vacant dwelling.
Officers investigating another dwelling on St. Aubin St. found a cell phone. The phone is being held by the police department.
A man reported that his former roommate stole a blank check and cashed it for $2,500.
Three men were arrested after a traffic stop because they gave officers false names. One of the men was wanted on a felony warrant.
A resident reported being bit by a dog on Belmont St. Officers were unable to find the dog or its owner.
A Vespa moped was stolen from a house on Moran St.
Wednesday, July 17
Three teens were arrested at almost midnight for a curfew violation. Their parents were also ticketed.
A resident was arrested for assault and battery after a disturbance in the 2300 block of Andrus St.
A resident reported that a woman known to him stole blank checks from his car. The suspect cashed two checks for a total of $1,100.
A man was arrested on a warrant after a traffic stop for not filing Hamtramck income taxes.
A Belmont St. man reported someone hit his car parked in front of his house and then fled.
A resident reported someone stole a video game system from his apartment.
Thursday, July 18
A man living in the 11000 block of Moran St. reported the theft of his 1998 Plymouth Voyager.
At about 4 a.m., a man reported he was assaulted by three males while he was walking in the Holbrook-Lumpkin area. The man said one of the suspects struck him over the head with a garbage can. Another suspect went through his pockets and demanded money. Nothing, however, was taken.
A Southfield woman was arrested at Walter’s Party store for attempting to cash a forged check.
Friday, July 19
A Yemans St. Resident reported someone stole her 1997 Ford Windstar from in front of her home.
Two people were arrested after a traffic stop for having an open bottle of liquor.
A Moran St. resident reported the theft of his 1998 Dodge Caravan from in front of his house.
A man was committed to a crisis center after attempting to assault his family. Family members told police the man had not been taking his medication.
Saturday, July 20
A man living in the 2200 block of Danforth St. reported a woman he knows cut his left ear with a sharp object. The suspect was described as a black female weighing 300 pounds and wearing a brown shirt and black shorts. The woman fled on foot before officers arrived.
A woman reported a man she knows had been stalking her for over a month.
A man reported someone broke into his house on Botsford St. and stole a handgun and laptop.
Monday, July 21
A person was arrested at almost 1 a.m. for being disorderly while in the 11400 block of Jos. Campau.
A Norwalk St. man reported the theft of a catalytic convertor from his vehicle while it was parked in front of his house. Later, a Detroit woman reported the theft of her catalytic convertor from her car while it was parked in the CVS Pharmacy parking lot.
Tuesday, July 22
A man was taken to Detroit Receiving Hospital after telling officers he wanted to hurt himself.
A man living in the 12000 block of Sobieski St. reported he saw a man attempting to steal his car. A Gallagher St. man also reported someone attempted to steal his car.
At 2 a.m., a man living in the 10000 block of Conant reported his 2001 Dodge Caravan was stolen.
Officers were called to Jos. Campau and Jacob where a man was reported to be beating a woman. The woman was taken to Detroit Receiving Hospital, and police were given the name of the man.
A woman was arrested at Whalen and Mackay after she was seen walking back and forth, carrying a knife. The woman was charged with disorderly conduct.
A woman reported that while in Club Aces at 11425 Jos. Campau, her purse was stolen.
A representative from Walter’s Party Store reported the business was defrauded by someone posing as a Western Union employee.
A Norwalk resident reported several items were stolen from his car while it was parked at the Family Dollar store at 9028 Jos. Campau.
A Hewitt resident reported someone stole copper plumbing from a dwelling he owns in the 3000 block of Roosevelt St.
