          This week’s Crime Log covers Aug. 27-Sept. 2.

Tuesday, Aug. 27

          A man was stabbed while in front of a residence in the 12000 block of Oklahoma. The man was treated for his injuries.

          A woman reported that someone damaged her 2001 Dodge Stratus while attempting to steal it.       

A resident reported that on Saturday her boyfriend became intoxicated and argued with her all day. She said her boyfriend struck her 20 times and at one point stuck an unloaded revolver to her head and slowly pulled the trigger. Officers arrested the man on Tuesday at his McDougall St. residence.

The principal of Caniff Liberty Academy reported someone stole two Dell computers and two printers.

A man reported that someone withdrew all his money out of his Huntington Bank account.

A man was arrested after failing to secure his truck door, which struck a parked car causing damage.

A woman reported being robbed by three suspects while walking in the city parking lot on Yemans St.

A Hamtramck man was found deceased in his garage from self-inflicted injuries.

A Hamtramck man reported his mountain bike stolen from Pope Park.             

Wednesday, Aug. 28

A man reported that while he and his girlfriend were having a verbal dispute on the front porch of a residence in the 2600 block of Caniff, the girlfriend’s son pulled up and brandished a black handgun, and fired one shot into the air. The suspect had already left when officers arrived.

A man reported that someone wrote a check from his account at PNC Bank and cashed it.

          A man reported that someone opened a Verizon account in his name without his permission.

Officers were dispatched to a local party store for a report of a person drinking in public. A Detroit man was arrested for consuming alcohol in public.

Thursday, Aug. 29

          A man reported that someone opened four Verizon cell phone accounts in his name without his permission.

          A woman reported that someone used her debit card number to make a purchase at Family Dollar store on Jos. Campau.

          A Jos. Campau business owner said that three women entered his store and stole several items.

Officers were flagged down at Yemans and Jos. Campau on a report that a man was just robbed of his Rolex watch. Officers located and arrested four Detroit men and recovered two guns, and the stolen watch.                                           

A resident reported that while walking on Jos. Campau a man unknown to him asked to use his cell phone. The man, however, refused to hand back the phone and walked away.

                                               

Friday, Aug. 30

A Lehman St. resident reported the theft of a handicap parking sign.                 A Moran St. resident reported a domestic argument involving a soda pop can.       

A Yemans St. resident reported the theft of his 2002 Dodge Intrepid.

          A resident reported his bike stolen from his house on Holbrook St.

Officers were flagged down and a resident turned over a stray dog, a Terrier mix.

A resident reported that an unknown person opened a Verizon account and ran up charges totaling $1,900.                   

Saturday, Aug. 31

          The city’s Public Works Department was notified that barricades needed to go up at Conant south of Holbrook because of flooding.

          A person was arrested at 11:30 p.m. for obstructing officers who were conducting an investigation in the 12000 block of Grayling St.

          At 1:30 a.m. a person was arrested for causing a disturbance while in the 11400 block of Jos. Campau.

          A resident reported that his air conditioner was stolen sometime during the night from his residence in the 11600 block of Nagel St.

Sunday, Sept. 1

          A person was arrested at 12:40 a.m. after causing a disturbance in the 11400 block of Jos. Campau.

          At almost 1 a.m. a person was arrested following a domestic dispute in the 3300 block of Edwin St.

          Five people were arrested for disorderly conduct while they were in the 11400 block of Jos. Campau.

          A woman said that while walking on Holbrook near Brombach a man grabbed her purse, but the woman resisted. The suspect fled on foot without the purse.

 A resident in the 12000 block of Mitchell St. reported a break-in at his residence.     

Monday, Sept. 2

          A resident was arrested for felonious assault after threatening a family member with a weapon.

          A man was arrested in the 3000 block of Jacob St. after obstructing officers who were investigating a domestic dispute incident.

          A woman reported that two men approached her while she was walking on Evaline St. and snatched a gold chain off her neck.

          A woman living in the 3800 block of Belmont St. reported someone stole her 2007 Dodge Charger.

          A man reported someone stole his handgun from his car while it was parked at Latham and Poland streets.

          A man reported that another man he knows punched him in his face 10 items and then stole his Apple iPhone and then ran away.

          A Botsford St. man reported someone opened a Verizon cell phone account in his name and ran up a charge of $580.

          A man was arrested while at a resident in the 9400 block of McDougall St. for public intoxication. The man was taken to a hospital because his blood-alcohol level was 0.31.

A woman reported that her ex-husband called her 50 times threatening to kill her. The woman said her ex-husband also violated a restraining order.
