Police officer mocks resident concerned for house during Detroit firestorm

During the Sept. 7 fires in Detroit, a man is mocked by a police officer after asking him to try and prevent his house from burning down. Residents were forced to vacate the scene by police upon their arrival; moments prior, the neighborhood was working together to prevent the fire from spreading. Police and firefighters arrived on the scene about an hour after the fire was initially reported by numerous residents.

Note the change in the officer’s pitch and tone after the request is made. When the officer is first heard speaking (“You don’t want that; you don’t want that.”) his voice is calm and deep. After hearing the request, his voice is audibly different, now sounding flippant and nasal.

Notice the disgusted look of the woman at the end of the video.
