With so many local people out of work and more about to lose their jobs, perhaps it’s time to seek divine intervention.
That’s where Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church is stepping in.
The Parish is holding a special Mass on Nov. 14 (at 11 a.m.) dedicated to those who have lost or are in risk of losing their job.
Pastor Bogdan Milosz said he wants the unemployed to know there are many who care about them.
“We want to bring them together to give them strength, hope and words of encouragement,” Milosz said. “We want people to know they are not alone and that we are thinking about them.”
Not only will the Mass reflect on celebrating St. Cajetan, the patron saint of job seekers and the unemployed, but it will also serve as a teaching. A speaker from the Piast Organization will be present, educating people on what to do to find a new job.
The event is open to everybody, even those that are not Catholic. Milosz said that it is not only a Mass but also a teaching and will hopefully instill perseverance to those dealing with unemployment.
Our Lady Queen of Apostles is located at 11420 Conant. For more information, call the rectory at (313) 891-1520.
