Bi-lingual award
The Seal of Biliteracy is an award given by a school, district, or state in recognition of students who have studied and attained proficiency in two or more languages by high school graduation.
This award is important because it encourages students to pursue biliteracy, which will serve them for a lifetime of success. This year 37 Hamtramck students earned a Seal of Biliteracy for their proficiency in Arabic, Bengali, and Bosnian languages.
Earth Day
Last Saturday was Earth Day, and the HPS District had these words of encouragement:
“On Earth Day, we acknowledge the work our students and community members do to promote a greener and more habitable planet. Hamtramck families can participate by reducing consumption, reusing and repurposing items.”
