Tuesday, Sept. 24
Officers found a 13-year-old girl who had been reported as missing from her parents’ house in Detroit. Her grandmother reported her whereabouts on Casmere St. A caseworker was notified of the location and picked the child up later in the day.
An Evaline St. resident said her 15-year-old son ran away from home.
A Detroit resident was arrested for grabbing a person’s cell phone.
A Klinger St. resident reported that someone opened five Verizon phone accounts in her name without permission.
A Dequindre St. resident reported someone broke into her garage and stole her pink bike.
Officers recovered a small brown male Pomeranian dog from 11411 Jos. Campau. The dog was transported to the Westland Humane Society. An Andrus St. resident was arrested at his residence on an outstanding Hamtramck warrant.
A Detroit resident reported a male suspect with curly hair stole her gray pit bull while her daughter was walking it in the 12000 block of Klinger St.
A sewer grate was reported missing from the 11600 block of Sobieski St.
Wednesday, Sept. 25
A landlord reported someone started a fire in the front and rear doors of an Oliver St. residence where one of his tenants lives.
A man was assaulted at a laundromat and during the assault the victim dropped his phone. The male suspect, who was wearing a green hat and black shirt, picked up the phone and fled.
Thursday, Sept. 26
A resident from the 11300 block of St. Aubin St. reported that someone attempted to break into her residence through the front window. She said she confronted the suspect who then fled.
A Whalen St. resident reported that someone forced entry into his garage and stole assorted items.
A Caniff business owner reported that someone gained entry into her business and stole a checkbook and several other items. A neighboring business also reported someone broke in by prying open the back door and stole money and other items.
A Nagel St. resident reported that someone fraudulently used his Social Security number to collect his federal income tax return.
A former Hamtramck resident reported that a student aid check that had been mailed to her former Hamtramck address had been cashed in Hamtramck at a party store.
A Belmont St. man reported his camera was stolen from his unlocked car.
Officers went to a residence on Hanley St., looking for a suspect with an open felony warrant out of Hamtramck. Officers located the suspect who had fled into a residence. After being tased the suspect was arrested.
Friday, Sept. 27
A resident in the 11500 block of Lumpkin St. reported his car was stolen from in front of his residence.
At about 2 a.m., two people said that they were robbed at gunpoint while walking in the Yemans and Charest area. They said there were two male suspects, one wearing a green hoodie and the other a black hoodie. The suspects fled on foot.
At a little after 9 a.m., a resident was arrested for being disorderly.
A woman from the Grand Rapids area reported two men bought her vehicle in Hamtramck with a fraudulent cashier’s check from Huntington Bank.
A Hamtramck woman reported someone charged over $500 on her Huntington Bank debit card. All charges were in Hamtramck at local businesses and ATM’s.
A Hamtramck man from Evaline St. was arrested after he got in a fight with his father and ripped up $200 in cash.
Saturday, Sept. 28
A Detroit resident was arrested after assaulting a person at Carpenter and Gallagher and for obstructing police.
At about 9 p.m. an Edwin St. resident was caught slashing car tires of a Dorothy St. resident.
A Holbrook St. resident reported that her cousin stole her bicycle, cell phone and Kindle.
A Hamtramck juvenile, who had escaped from jail, was arrested after a foot chase.
A Conant St. dental office reported that a patient stole a set of dentures.
Officers responded to the area of Gallagher and Holbrook on a report of a disorderly group and one or more possibly armed with a gun. Officers arrested a Hamtramck man for possession of a replica firearm in the form of a BB gun. A woman reported being bitten by a dog on Roosevelt St. while she was delivering flowers.
A Westland woman reported her purse was stolen from inside a Conant night club. Her keys, money and credit cards were taken.
Sunday, Sept. 29
For the second time in a week, Checkers restaurant reported damage to its building. In the latest incident, someone damaged the drive-through speaker box. At 1:45 a.m., two people were arrested for fighting in public while in the 2300 block of Caniff.
A woman living in the 3100 block of Jacob St. reported someone damaged the outside mirrors to her car.
A Grand Haven St. woman reported that a man she knows stole a number of items from her.
Monday, Sept. 30
A woman was arrested during a fight for not being licensed to carry a concealed weapon.
A person was arrested at CVS Pharmacy for retail fraud, but the person had to be taken to Detroit Receiving Hospital after complaining about a health matter.
A Hamtramck resident reported that someone opened four cell phone accounts in her name without permission.
A Hamtramck woman reported receiving threatening phone calls and emails.
