Crime Log is a snappy little compilation of the more interesting or pertinent items from police incident reports from between the dates of Wednesday, March 28 and Wednesday, April 4.
From Wednesday, March 28:
A man reported that his girlfriend intentionally rammed his car with her own, after she had already assaulted him during an argument. Her vehicle was impounded.
A man reported that an acquaintance of his pointed a gun at him while they were both at a location in the 3200 block of Belmont. The acquaintance had fled by the time police arrived.
A man came into the station to report that his 14-year-old daughter was taken out of her school by her 17-year-old boyfriend.
A woman was arrested after she assaulted her daughter at a home in the 12000 block of Oklahoma. There were also suspected narcotics recovered at the scene.
A man reported that an unknown black male wearing a red “hoodie” robbed him at gunpoint while he was taking out his garbage. The victim didn’t call police until almost half an hour after the incident occurred (by which time the suspect had fled). He had chosen instead to look for the suspect with a neighbor.
From Thursday, March 29:
A man reported that his mother pulled a knife on him during an argument. The mother had fled prior to police arriving.
A man was arrested for felony assault (domestic) after he threatened his girlfriend with an axe, and then tried to chop down the bathroom door separating them with it.
A woman reported that someone used her identity to file an income tax return.

From Saturday, March 31:
A woman was placed under arrest for driving on a suspended license, as well as for a Humane Society Animal Cruelty warrant, while at Whalen and Mackay. Her vehicle was impounded.
A woman reported that someone broke the windshield on her 1998 Audi while it was parked in front of a location in the 3400 block of Doremus at about 12:15 a.m.
A woman reported the theft of her gray 2006 Pontiac G6 from in front of a location on the 2400 block of Faber between 9 p.m. on the 30th and 10 a.m. on the morning of this date. The vehicle was reported recovered by Detroit Police at Selkirk and Foster in Detroit at about 2:30 later that afternoon. The vehicle’s condition was not given.
A man was arrested in the 2600 block of Belmont for obstructing police, and for a violation of the public health code. During his booking, a white rock-like substance, possibly crack cocaine (according to the report) fell out of the man’s right sock. The man had $1,137 dollars on him, which was confiscated.
A man was arrested next to a pizza shop near Conant and Carpenter for an open intoxicant, urinating in public, and possession of narcotics paraphernalia.
A woman reported that someone took the catalytic converter from her 2003 Honda Element on this date, sometime between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. while it was parked in a parking structure on the 3100 block of Carpenter.
From Sunday, April 1:
Officers confiscated fliers being distributed by two persons in the 2300 block of Caniff at 12:52 a.m. No further information as to why these particular flyers were taken.
A man was issued an ordinance ticket for summoning police or the fire department without cause.
A man reported the theft of $1,300 he believes he left on a table of a restaurant in the 11400 block of Jos. Campau while he went outside to smoke.
A woman came into the station to report that someone had attempted to steal her 2001 Chevy Impala while it was parked, disabled, in the parking lot of a shopping mall in the 9000 block of Jos. Campau sometime between March 29 and this date.
A man was arrested for repeatedly violating the terms of a personal protection order against him.
A woman reported that her landlord illegally moved her belongings out of her residence in the 9400 block of Charest on today’s date, between 1 and 6 p.m., after telling her he would give her until April 3.
A woman reported that two black males (no further description given) broke into her 1999 Ford (no model/color given) while she was at a gas station in the 2000 block of Caniff.
A man was arrested at Lumpkin and Danforth for retail fraud when police caught up to him after he had stolen four locks from a dollar store near Jos. Campau and Hanley. The man also had another outstanding Hamtramck warrant for larceny.
From Monday, April 2:
A woman reported her front door’s window had been broken at her residence in the 2600 block of Evaline.
A man was arrested for assault and battery after another man reported being assaulted by him at a location in the 2300 block of Caniff.
A man and a woman were both arrested for possession of cocaine and possession of narcotics paraphernalia by officers investigating a suspicious vehicle near Fleming and Commor at about 4:15 a.m. The vehicle was impounded.
From Tuesday, April 3:
A man and woman were each arrested after assaulting one another during an argument.
A woman was arrested for heroin possession and an outstanding warrant after a traffic stop at Dequindre and Grand Haven. Her 2008 Dodge was impounded.
A man reported that his blue 1999 Dodge Caravan minivan, license plate number CFU 9182, was stolen around 8 a.m. on this date from a location in the 3900 block of Prescott.
A person living in the 3300 block of Doremus reported receiving eight threatening phone calls by about 2:45 p.m. on this date, following a previous altercation.
A woman reported the theft of an aluminum chair from the front porch of a residence in the 11300 block of Moran at about 8:00 p.m. on this date.
A woman reported that her son had been assaulted by two white males at Mackay and Holmes, who then robbed him of $5.
From Wednesday, April 4:
A man was arrested for public intoxication near Fleming and Whalen after causing a disturbance.
Two men were arrested near Conant and Prescott for open intoxicants after being seen drinking from open bottles of beer.
A man reported a break-in of a location in the 12000 block of Lumpkin sometime between the prior evening at 5:30 p.m. and this date at 8 a.m. About four feet of copper piping appeared to have been taken.
A juvenile (gender not given) reported being followed by a suspicious vehicle in the 3200 block of Caniff at about 10 a.m. The vehicle was described as a black Honda Accord with a white male about 40 years old at the wheel.
A juvenile female was arrested at her aunt’s home in the 2700 block of Trowbridge for assaulting the aunt.
