          This week’s Crime Log covers Sept. 10-16.

Tuesday, Sept. 10

          A Belmont St. woman was transported to Detroit Receiving Hospital after she took an overdose of pills as a result of her depression.

          A man was attacked by his girlfriend who struck him in the head with a meat cleaver. The woman was eventually arrested.

A man living in the 2400 block of Commor heard a pounding noise at almost midnight outside his house. When he went outside to investigate, he saw a man driving away in his 1995 Dodge Neon.

A woman was arrested at Royal Market after attempting to cash a fraudulent check.

 

Wednesday, Sept. 11

 

          A woman living in the 11600 block of Klinger reported someone broke into her garage.

          A woman reported that someone stole her 2000 Dodge Stratus while it was parked in the 2700 block of Florian St. Later, Royal Oak police confirmed they had recovered the car.

          Detroit police arrested a woman wanted on a Hamtramck warrant.

          A Holbrook resident reported someone damaged the steering column to his car in an attempt to steal it.

          Another Holbrook resident reported someone stole his iPhone from his unlocked car.

Thursday, Sept. 12

 

          The principal of Dickinson East Elementary School reported someone stole three laptops.

          A man was arrested after he stole a bicycle from Holbrook Elementary School.

A Hamtramck man reported that someone opened a credit card in his name and charged over $18,000 worth of purchases.                                                               A boy who was bitten by a dog while on Andrus St. required medical treatment. The dog was captured and taken to the Michigan Humane Society.

 

Friday, Sept. 13

          At 11 p.m. a man living in the 2200 block of Bernard St. reported his girlfriend assaulted him.

          Officers responding to a business security alarm in the 12000 block of Conant discovered someone broke in through the front window.

          At 2:30 a.m. a person on Jos. Campau was issued a ticket for being intoxicated in public. 

          At 3:30 a.m. a woman living in the 3600 block of Doremus St. reported someone stole her Dodge Charger.

          A man reported someone stole his 1997 Chevrolet from Ellery and Evaline streets.

          At 12:30 p.m. a woman reported that while in the 3300 block of Comstock St. a man holding a silver handgun stole her purse as well as another woman’s.     

          A man reported that someone he knows wrote him a bad check.

          A Detroit man and woman were arrested at Walter’s Party Store after attempting to cash a fraudulent check.

 

Saturday, Sept. 14

          At about 11 p.m. a person reported being robbed at gunpoint while in the 2600 block of Evaline St.

          At a few minutes past midnight, a woman in the 12000 block of Dyar St. reported her boyfriend assaulted her. The boyfriend fled before officers arrived.

          A man living in the 1900 block of Yemans St. reported the theft of his Jeep.

          A Trowbridge St. resident reported that an unknown person opened a Verizon account in his name and ran up a charge of over $400.

          In a drug raid on Andrus St., officers confiscated marijuana and prescription pills. Two men were arrested and charges are pending.

 

Sunday, Sept. 15

 

          A man said while in the 11400 block of Mitchell St. another man approached him, removed a handgun from his waist and threatened him. The suspect then fled the scene in a car.

          A Warren resident reported her vehicle was stolen while it was parked in the 3300 block of Norwalk St.

          An employee at Amicci’s Pizza reported that two men gave him two counterfeit $20 bills while delivering a pizza to a residence in the 12000 block of Selfridge St.

 

Monday, Sept. 16

 

          A juvenile boy reported that his mother and aunt assaulted him, and also chased him down the 2700 block of Trowbridge St. He said they were swinging a broom and a hammer at him. When officers arrived the women were gone. The matter was referred to Child Protective Services.

          A woman reported that her car’s front passenger window was knocked out while it was parked in the 10000 block of Conant.

          A Yemans St. resident said he was swindled out of $3,400 in a telephone scam in which he was told he won a large sum of money and two cars but needed to forward money to pay for shipping.

          A woman was arrested for assaulting her ex-boyfriend with a knife. Officers needed the assistance of the Fire Department to recover the knife from a roof where the woman had thrown it.

          A Mitchell St. resident reported that a person she knows entered her house and assaulted her.

          A resident reported that someone opened a Verizon cell phone account in his name without his permission.
