Hamtramck High soccer ends a successful season

By Ian Perrotta

Another heartbreaking loss in the post-season has prematurely ended Hamtramck High’s soccer season. The Cosmos were defeated by Madison Heights Lamphere.

Last year the team made it all the way to the finals, but their dreams of being champions were diminished with a “golden goal” by the Ferndale Eagles in overtime. The Cosmos got their revenge on Monday (Oct. 18) when they shot down the Eagles 4-3 in the tournament’s first round, but were unable to pull off another win in their overtime loss against the Rams.

Overall, it was a successful season for the Cosmos, who once again had a very young and inexperienced team at the beginning of the season. One thing is definitely certain for next year: they’ll be back and more determined than ever.
